Monsoon, where have you been all my life? Searching for a worthy curry house since moving to Tufnell Park nearly five years ago, we’re sorry we overlooked you. Lovely staff, eager to help and advise, the restaurant is busy with take-aways on the Sunday we visit.
Lamb chops arrive slightly on the small side, but deliciously charred, and there really is no other option than to pick them up and go for it. Onion bhajis are wonderfully crisp, Manchurian chicken well-spiced in medium-hot tomato based sauce, the onion and pepper still with a lovely crunch. The highlight? Lamb Shahjani. Tender, almost shredded meat, well-balanced, we could taste both the lamb and the rich, hot sauce.
The sign of a good curry? Taking your leftovers home and having them for dinner the next night.
